Civilian Injured in Indiana Cruiser Crash

A female driver was injured in a three-vehicle wreck involving a Floyd County Sheriff's Department vehicle.

FLOYD COUNTY, Ind. -- A female driver was injured in a three-vehicle wreck involving a Floyd County Sheriff's Department vehicle on Paoli Pike Friday around 9 p.m

Sheriff Darrell Mills said the woman struck a car in front of her that then hit the police vehicle which was stopped in traffic. He said the second vehicle was either stopped or stopping.

The driver of the vehicle that reportedly caused the wreck complained of pain, but Mills said he did not believe there were any severe injuries. She was taken by ambulance to Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services. No one else was injured in the wreck.

"The girl said she was not paying attention," Mills said.

Mills said there was little if any damage to the police cruiser.

No other details were available because the report was not finished as of Saturday afternoon.
