A Frederick, MD police officer suffered minor injuries Sunday when a pickup truck landed on top of his cruiser.

Frederick Police say Brian Head faces driving under the influence, reckless driving and assault charges after an incident that happened around 3 a.m. Sunday, according to WHAG TV.

Officers attempted to pull over Head's F-250 pick-up truck near South Bentz Street and West Patrick Street.

Head didn't stop until his truck collided with a Volkswagon.

As the officer pulled onto the scene, Head's truck backed over the patrol car and came to a rest on top of the cruiser, the station reported.

Police, however, do not believe Head intentionally backed over the cruiser.

The officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
