CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. --

Two Palm Beach County police officers and one other person were injured in an airboat collision Wednesday afternoon, according to investigators.

The crash occurred in Conservation Area 2 in the Everglades.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, a tour boat and an airboat carrying Palm Beach County deputies conducting a training exercise were involved in the crash. Investigators said the officers' boat was going north and the tour boat was going south when they collided.

The eco-tour boat owned by Ride The Wind of Broward County was carrying five tourists, including a child and his family from Jupiter, and their tour guide. Investigators said a woman aboard that boat suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Five deputies and an intern from Germany were aboard the other boat. Several of the deputies had to be plucked from the water. One was seriously injured, and a second suffered minor injuries, according to investigators.

Mike Moser, of the Coral Springs Fire Department, said the seriously injured officer was flown to Delray Medical Center after the incident.

The Palm Beach Sheriff's Office boat was brought to shore, but the tour boat sank in a canal, according to officials.
