Law Enforcement Technology Receives Awards for Editorial Excellence

July 29, 2015

LET magazine took home two 2015 Tabbie Awards from the Trade Association of Business Publications International. Drone report: Electronic news gathering, law and litigation, a Tabbie 'Top 25 Feature Article', looks at the multi-layered advantages and concerns associated with unmanned aerial vehicles from a policing standpoint.

LET also joined the 'Top 25 Best Single Issue' category with its October 2014 Global Policing report. In this issue readers can find an infographic of world crime stats and various policing technologies. We also went one-on-one with Europol's director, Rob Wainwright. The issue came on the heels of the uprising and unrest in Ferguson, Missouri—perhaps the largest law enforcement story to capture public interest in the U.S. in decades. The challenge was to cover the event, fully allowing that a verdict had not yet been made in the Michael Brown shooting by Officer Darren Wilson. Here we presented insight on force policies, educated departments about body worn cameras, and started a dialogue regarding healthy community relations.
