MANCHESTER -- Patrick Driscoll missed his hearing in Manchester District Court yesterday, but the reason isn't going to win him any points anywhere but on his driving record.

Witnesses told police that Driscoll, 47, of 151 Ray St., was driving east on Manchester Street, next to the Manchester Police Department, when his green Jeep Cherokee struck two unmarked police vehicles, causing moderate damage.

According to witnesses, Driscoll didn't stop, but circled the block and passed the accident scene without stopping.

An officer patrolling the area spotted the Cherokee, with damage to the right front quarter, stopped on the north side of Concord Street, just west of Pine Street. The engine was running and the driver's window was down, but the vehicle was empty.

As the officer got out of his vehicle and approached the Cherokee, Driscoll approached him and was identified as the owner and operator, police said.

Driscoll was charged with conduct after an accident and operating under the influence of drugs. In addition, he received summonses for unattended motor vehicle, stopping, standing and parking prohibited, and stop sign violation at Manchester and Chestnut streets.

Driscoll had been scheduled to appear in Manchester District Court for a probable cause hearing on a felony reckless conduct charge. That charge stems from his arrest Nov. 17 for allegedly waving a loaded .38 caliber revolver above his head, shifting it from hand to hand, as he walked through the Pearl Street parking lot.
