Police in Florida said two burglary suspects were arrested after they apparently dialed 911 accidentally while going through the pilfered goods.
Daytona Beach police said dispatchers listened Sunday afternoon as Stefanie Vargas, 19, and Kristian Amezquita, 13, burglarized a car and discussed the crime while in the process, WFTV, Orlando, Fla., reported.
"You gotta break that SIM card. Take that SIM card outta there. They can trace it," one of the suspects, apparently referring to a cellphone, said during the call.
Police said they traced the accidental 911 call and quickly arrested Vargas and Amezquita, who allegedly still had the stolen items with them at the time of their arrests.
The teenagers were each charged with one count of burglary of a conveyance and Amezquita was released into the custody of a parent. Vargas was held in lieu of $5,000 bond.
