An Oklahoma City police officer died Tuesday after suffering a sudden medical emergency.
Master Sgt. Loc Nguyen was taken to the hospital after suffering the medical issue, but he was unable to be revived, the department stated in a social media post. No details were released concerning the nature of the emergency and whether Nguyen was on duty at the time.
"(H)e will be dearly missed," the department stated.
Nguyen was a 20-year veteran of the agency and was serving as a detective in the sex crimes unit. Last year, he was featured in a video for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, speaking about his family’s journey from Vietnam to the United States.
