Calif. Police Officer Killed in Crash on Way to Start Work Shift

An off-duty Parlier police officer was killed while on his way to work Sunday morning.
Authorities responded to the crash in the 13500 block of Avenue 152 in southern Tulare County.
Officer Jesus Dario Corona, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.
The crash is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol. No details on how the crash occurred were provided.
The Parlier Police Department said Corona was with the department for two years and was assigned as a patrol officer and as a School Resource Officer for Parlier High for a period of time.
Corona is survived by his wife and 6-year-old daughter, both of Porterville. He is also survived by his parents, two sisters of Terra Bella, and a brother of Fresno.
“The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office sends its love and prayers to the family, friends and colleagues of Officer Jesus Dario Corona. Our deputies are there to support the Parlier Police Department with its patrol operations during this time of grief,” the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
