La. Sheriff's Deputy Dies after On-Duty Medical Emergency

A Louisiana sheriff's deputy died after suffering a medical emergency while on duty.
"We are stunned and heartbroken by the loss of" Rapides Parish Deputy LaTusha Trusty, said Sheriff Mark Wood in an online statement. Trusty worked as an administrative assistant to the Uniform/Patrol Division major and captain
“She always did her job to the utmost of her ability, always with a positive attitude and a kind heart," Wood stated. "She will be missed by all who worked with her and knew her."
Trusty began as a shift communications officer on B Shift assigned to the agency's main office, according to the sheriff's office.
"Her years of experience in Texas made her shine and she was always striving to be better and pass her knowledge on to others," the agency stated.
