Ga. Police Officer Dies Days after Domestic Disturbance Shooting

A Georgia police officer who was shot during a domestic disturbance last week died of his injuries late Monday.
Henry County Police Officer Paramhans Desai responded to a domestic dispute near McDonough on Thursday. He was struck by gunfire during the call and taken to the hospital.
Desai succumbed to his wounds just before 10 p.m. Monday, according to a social media post by the police department.
"Officer Desai continues to serve, even in his passing, by donating multiple organs which will save numerous lives," the department stated. "Please continue to keep Officer Desai’s family in your thoughts and prayers through this terrible tragedy."
Before joining the Henry Police Department, Desai had been a member of the DeKalb County Police Department and the Georgia Department of Corrections, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page. He is survived by his wife and two young children.
Police are searching for Jordan Jackson, 22, who fled the scene in a 2016 Honda Civic. NBA superstar Shaquille O'Neal has contributed to the $30,000 offered for information on Jackson's whereabouts, according to the New York Daily News.
