ICE Officer Collapses, Dies During Foot Pursuit

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement deportation officer died last week after he suffered a fatal heart attack during a foot pursuit.

Deportation Officer Brian Beliso collapsed while chasing a fugitive in the 300 block of Poplar Avenue in Redwood City, California on June 8, according to ODMP.org.

The 34-year-old was participating in a large operation targeting illegal immigrants with criminal backgrounds in the San Francisco Bay area. Fellow officers discovered him unconscious and attempted to revive him but were unsuccessful.

Beliso, who worked for the ICE Officer of Removal Operations for nine years, is survived by his wife, Christina, and their three children Noah, 7, Sophia, 5, and Bella, 1.

"He lived a life of service for his country and took it for granted that it was just all part of his job," a statement posted on a donation page set up for his family read. "He shared his desire to have a big family with his wife Christina, who has been by his side for 18 years, and his family was everything to him. He will be deeply, deeply missed by everyone whose lives he touched.

Funeral Arrangements

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, June 17 at 10 a.m. St. Dominic's Church at 2390 Bush Street in San Francisco.
