The Harford County Sheriff's Office has introduced a new program, the first of its kind in Maryland, to help substance misusers at the detention center.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office has introduced a new program, the first of its kind in Maryland, to help substance misusers at the detention center. About 75 percent of the inmates at the Harford County Detention Center are substance misusers. The program, which is modeled after similar programs at some detention centers in Virginia, has been in operation since January, and so far, it has been a success, officials said.
