Arlinda Westbrook, chief of the NOPD Public Integrity Bureau, told members of Eric Harris' family that New Orleans officers would have been "arrested on the spot" if they killed Harris in the manner Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office deputies did on Feb. 8.

Donovan Livaccari, attorney and spokesman for the local chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police, called for Westbrook to resign, labeling her statements as "reckless, inflammatory and unnecessary."

The New Orleans Police Department took distance from Westbrook's comments, saying in a written statement that she misspoke.
