• A brief chase with Albany County sheriff's deputies started in Albany and ended with a crash in Colonie, prompting the driver to and flee on foot, leaving a crying 6-year-old child to climb out of the wrecked vehicle.

• Deputies said the 36-year-old driver fled a stop for traffic infractions, and he was arrested and charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, unlawful imprisonment and child endangerment.

• The sheriff said the man was also wanted for failing to appear on a weapons charge and for a felony assault case in Albany.
