A Milwaukee police officer who survived a patrol car crash that killed his partner Thursday evening has been released from the hospital.
Officer Matthew Schulze and Officer Charles Irvine Jr. were pursuing a reckless driver when their cruiser rolled over near an overpass, according to WISC-TV.
Irvine, who was just 23, died in the crash while the 36-year-old Schulz was discharged from the hospital on Friday.
Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales told reporters that the suspect they were pursuing is a 28-year-old man with a lengthy criminal record. The suspect was taken into custody, along with a 45-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman.
