Watch Mass. Police Crack Down on Illegal Street Takeover

Fall River police arrested five people and seized several motorcycles after a street takeover Sunday night.
The takeover began around 3:15 p.m. Sunday and lasted until 6 p.m., during which time 50-100 people rode around on dirt bikes, ATVs, scooters and motorcycles. The group "congregated on city streets, disregarding traffic laws while performing reckless stunts," according to police.
In doing so, they put “not only their lives at risk, but the lives of innocent, law-abiding drivers and pedestrians at risk," police said in a statement. In addition to making five arrests, police seized four motorcycles, an ATV and a scooter.
"These unlawful gatherings pose a significant safety concern to the public," police said. “These are not merely bikers peacefully enjoying a law-abiding ride through our city. These are chaotic groups that block streets, operate recklessly and hinder the safe travel of those around them.”
“We will rip you off of your bike, tow it and provide you with free transport to our jail,” the department added.
Those arrested were:
- Christopher Frias, 34, charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, failure to stop for police and conspiracy
- Dylan Ploude, 24, charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for police, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, conspiracy, resisting arrest and operating an unregistered motor vehicle
- Aaron Pimental, 20, charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for police, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, conspiracy and operation of a recreational vehicle on a public way
- Yethziel Medina, 19, charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for police, operation of a recreational vehicle on a public way, disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, conspiracy, resisting arrest and motorized scooter violation
- Jerron Butler, 36, charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, failure to stop for police, conspiracy, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, resisting arrest, assault and battery on an officer and failure to use care when turning
