July 20--A 27-year-old Norristown man surrendered to Philadelphia police Thursday evening in connection with an incident in which an officer was injured when he was dragged by the man's truck.

Christopher Stegall was identified by police as the driver of the Ford F-150 that was stopped Tuesday night at Fourth Street and Olney Avenue by two 25th District officers.

During the traffic stop, Stegall allegedly acted suspiciously and was ordered out of the truck. Stegall instead took off, dragging one of the officers an entire block and then speeding off, police said. The officer suffered a broken ankle. -- Robert Moran
