April 20--Two Inkster Police officers are recuperating after being hit by a car during a traffic stop overnight.

"They're good, and that's the No. 1 thing," Detective Sgt. Shawn Adams said this morning, adding that both have been treated and released from a local hospital. "Nothing serious."

Four detectives were monitoring a suspected drug deal near John Daly and Princeton just before midnight, according to investigators.

Adams said two of the detectives attempted to stop a vehicle at 11:45 p.m. when the driver took off, hitting the pair. One officer fired shots at the car, but the driver never stopped.

Investigators found the vehicle abandoned a short time later abandoned and riddled with bullet holes at Meadowdale and Plum, Adams said.

Michigan State Police investigators are reviewing the case, the second incident in a week where officers fired shots. One week ago, officers wounded a man during a foot chase through a local housing complex at Annapolis and Inkster roads.
