No one was hurt Tuesday in a downtown Jacksonville collision involving a Florida Highway Patrol trooper and Jacksonville police officer, according to the Highway Patrol.

Trooper Robert Hoover, 30, was taking a prisoner to the Duval County jail when an unmarked 2011 police pickup ran the red light at Ocean and Forsyth Streets just before 5 p.m., said Highway Patrol Lt. Bill Leeper.

The trooper was eastbound on Forsyth and hit the northbound pickup in the left side when it ran into the trooper's path, Leeper said. Police officer Robert Peck, 37, was not injured. Evette Johnson, 24, of Jacksonville was taken on to the jail.

All three were wearing seat belts, Leeper said.

Leeper said the Highway Patrol investigates crashes involving troopers but it has not been concluded in the case.
