A Tulsa County Sheriff Deputy was injured Saturday afternoon when he was dragged by a truck during a traffic stop, deputies said.

About 3:30 p.m., deputies stopped a truck in the 100 block of South Gilcrease Museum Road, said Cpl. Jeff Organ. Deputies discovered the man, later identified as 31-year-old Paul Lester Harris, had a felony warrant, Organ said.

Deputies went to arrest the man when he drove off, Organ said.

A deputy was dragged about 20 feet and fell to the ground away from the truck, receiving minor injuries, Organ said. He was transported to St. John Medical Center in fair condition, said EMSA Public Information Officer Chris Stevens.

The man continued to drive a little further down the road before he stopped, got out of the vehicle and ran, Organ said. He was last seen running into a wooded area near the 3700 block of U.S. 64/412, Organ said.
