Versaterm announced it will host the first annual DroneSense Innovation Summit by Versaterm on April 20–22, 2026, in Scottsdale, Arizona, bringing together public safety leaders and industry experts to establish operational best practices for expanding drone programs.
According to the company, the two-day working summit is designed for executive decision-makers and command staff overseeing unmanned aircraft systems. The agenda centers on governance, regulatory compliance, and operational integration as agencies increasingly deploy drones to support patrol, incident response, and coordinated operations.
Versaterm cited findings from its recent Public Safety Trends Survey indicating that most police leaders plan to increase drone-related budgets over the next year. As adoption grows, agencies are confronting new leadership challenges, including regulatory restrictions, program oversight, integration into real-time operations, and demonstrating measurable improvements in officer safety, response efficiency, and community outcomes.
The company said the summit will focus on how agencies can lead and sustain drone programs that support real-time decision-making, Drone as First Responder (DFR) models, and multi-agency coordination. Sessions are structured around executive briefings, case studies, and scenario-based discussions drawn from public safety deployments.
Programming will also include live flight demonstrations and sessions examining operational workflows across pilot-level operations and command center coordination using the DroneSense platform. Versaterm said these sessions are intended to help agencies align field operations with command-level visibility and oversight.
