Genetec Introduces Cloudlink 2210 to Support Large-Scale Cloud-Managed Security Deployments
What to Know
- Supports multiple security workloads—video, access control, and intrusion—within a single, unified platform.
- Offers up to 240 terabytes of local storage and supports hundreds of connected devices per unit.
- Built with hardware resiliency features like RAID protection, redundant components, and dual network interfaces to ensure high availability.
MONTRÉAL -- Genetec Inc. announced the release of its Cloudlink 2210, a cloud-managed appliance designed for complex, enterprise-scale physical security deployments. The company said the system is intended to address challenges organizations face when transitioning to cloud-managed security, including storage costs, legacy device compatibility, and maintaining local operations during network disruptions.
The Cloudlink 2210 is designed for high-density, mission-critical environments and allows organizations to extend cloud-managed security without reconfiguring existing infrastructure. According to the company, the appliance supports multiple security workloads—video management, access control, and intrusion—within a single platform, reducing the need for separate systems and simplifying management across large deployments.
Genetec said the appliance is built on an open architecture that supports a range of third-party cameras, access control systems, and intrusion panels. This approach allows organizations to integrate existing hardware into a unified, cloud-managed model while maintaining operational continuity and reducing migration risks.
“Enterprises don’t want to choose between innovation and operational certainty,” said Christian Chenard Lemire, Product Director, Unified Solutions, Genetec Inc. “With Cloudlink 2210, we’re redefining what cloud-managed physical security looks like at scale by giving organizations the freedom to modernize on their own terms, control long-term costs, and maintain the resiliency and continuity their most critical environments demand.”
The company said Cloudlink 2210 supports hundreds of connected devices per unit and provides up to 240 terabytes of local storage, making it suitable for environments with high device density and extended data retention requirements. By relying on local storage and processing, the system is designed to reduce dependence on cloud storage while maintaining performance and availability.
Genetec said the appliance incorporates hardware-level resiliency features, including RAID-protected storage, redundant system components, and dual network interfaces. Security workloads continue operating locally if cloud connectivity is interrupted, which the company said is intended to support environments where uptime and data retention are operational priorities.
The Cloudlink 2210 is designed to scale by adding additional units as storage or device requirements increase, allowing organizations to expand without redesigning their infrastructure. Centralized cloud management is used to maintain visibility and control across deployments.
Genetec said the appliance supports on-premises, cloud, and hybrid deployment models, allowing organizations to align system architecture with operational and regulatory requirements. The company expects the Cloudlink 2210 to begin shipping globally in May 2026 through its network of accredited channel partners.
