SARASOTA, Fla., July 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- xG Technology, Inc. ("xG" or the "Company") (Nasdaq: XGTI, XGTIW), a leader in providing critical wireless communications for use in challenging operating environments, announces that it has entered into a teaming agreement with Abilis Solutions, Inc. ("Abilis") and Radio IP Software, Inc. ("Radio IP") to include xMax broadband network technology in a secure wireless system for use by correctional agencies.
The goal of the agreement will be to deliver an all-in-one solution that integrates xMax wireless network architecture and Radio IP's secure VPN features with Abilis' CORIS© Mobile Offender Management System. Abilis has successfully operated a proof of concept in a detention facility which evaluated the features, functionality and performance of the integrated system.
George Schmitt, CEO and Chairman of the Board of xG Technology, said, "We are pleased to collaborate with Radio IP and Abilis in this agreement to explore the integration of xMax broadband technology with CORIS® Mobile. xMax provides a highly secure, interoperable and efficient communications layer that is a perfect complement to the CORIS® Mobile platform. The high levels of sensitive information shared and transacted among correctional agencies offer ample opportunities for the xMax solution in this sector."
"The use of secure applications on mobile devices has already been proven to efficiently deliver essential information to corrections officers in the community. However, given the complex design and construction of prison environments, the benefits of CORIS® Mobile inside the facility have been impossible to achieve," said Eric Le Goff, President and CTO of Abilis Solutions. "Now, through this partnership with xG Technology and Radio IP, we have demonstrated that corrections agencies can cost-effectively deploy a powerful, secure broadband network to ensure a high level of confidentiality and security across the agency's mobile devices. This is certainly a positive development for corrections agencies that seek opportunities to improve operational effectiveness while dealing with ever-present budget limitations."
Roch Tremblay, Chief Operating Officer of Radio IP, said, "Merging the strong wireless networking capabilities of xG Technology and the powerful roaming and encryption functionalities of Radio IP provides a solution that employs a highly secure and available wireless network that answers CORIS® Mobile service needs for the corrections domain."
xG signed a co-marketing agreement with Radio IP in 2015. They offer advanced VPN solutions that enable constant, uninterrupted network availability and a predictable data transfer and application experience. They help improve wireless data communications on mission-critical mobile networks by providing capabilities including application session persistence, encryption and roaming to almost all available public and private networks.
