Havis Inc., an ISO 9001:2008 certified company, announced that its new Docking Station for the Dell Latitude Rugged Extreme Notebooks is now available to buy. Havis has been working closely with Dell to ensure this adjustable docking station is compatible with both the Latitude 12 Rugged Extreme convertible notebook and the Latitude 14 Rugged Extreme notebook.

This latest docking station will improve mobile workforce productivity by offering a secure location for computer charging, security and connection to peripherals, such as printers, keyboards and barcode scanners. The dock's port replication features best-in-class circuitry and allows users to easily connect up to three fully-powered USB 3.0 cables and one USB 2.0 cable.

In order to provide reliable docking and functionality in rugged work environments, Havis is conducting rigorous safety and quality testing, which includes 30-mph crash simulations per SAE J1455, military-grade vibration testing, hot/cold operation and storage testing, extensive cycle testing, and compliance with RoHS (Restriction of Use of Hazardous Substances) regulations.

The docking station also features an easy-to-use latch handle and barrel lock that work together to securely mount the Latitude Rugged Extreme notebooks and provide convenient one-handed docking and peace-of-mind theft deterrence. Additionally, strain relief and recessed port replication protect cable connections to essential peripherals and prevent accidental disconnects.

This new product series includes the standard docking station and a mount-only version without electronics. Other models of the Havis Docking Station for the Dell Latitude 12 and 14 Rugged Extreme Notebooks feature triple high-gain antenna to improve range and Lind power supply with customized cord length and connector tip.

Designed with versatility in mind, the Docking Station for the Dell Latitude 12 and 14 Rugged Extreme Notebooks will provide reliable in-vehicle computing in a wide range of rugged work environments. With this solution, fleet managers can enhance productivity within their mobile workforce without sacrificing safety, product quality or longevity.
