TAMPA, FL, MAY 19, 2014 — Integrated Microwave Technologies, LLC (IMT), a Business Unit within the Vitec Group’s Videocom Division, and a leader in advanced digital microwave systems for MAG (Military, Aerospace & Government) markets, features its DropCam Tx-II/Mini MobilCMDR Video Camera/Transmitter and Receiver Kit at its virtual booth (V102) at this year’s Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC). SOFIC provides a forum for military, government, academia, and industry stakeholders to network and discuss current and future challenges and how to best support our special operations forces.
The DropCam Tx-II/Mini MobilCMDR Video Camera/Transmitter and Receiver Kit is a rapid-deployment video/audio solution that includes the DropCam Tx-II Transmitter with integrated camera and microphone, along with IMT's Mini MobilCMDR receiver/monitor. Housed in a convenient carrying case, this new kit is ideal for rapid deployment and tactical surveillance. It uses COFDM digital RF transmission, enabling superior non-line-of-sight performance in buildings, culverts and urban environments, giving users a level of performance that is unattainable with conventional analog or 802.11 (Wi-Fi) products.
“We are pleased to be a part of this year’s prestigious SOFIC event and look forward to digitally featuring our range of products through our virtual presence,” says IMT Chief Executive Stephen Shpock. “This new, all-inclusive kit features AES BCRYPT decryption capabilities making it an ideal and secure solution for applications ranging from public security monitoring to situational video assessment.”
IMT's DropCam Tx-II HD Transmitter is a small, ruggedized COFDM transmitter with integrated camera and microphone, housed in an IP66-rated enclosure. This next-generation product comes with an assortment of removable sensor modules, making it even more versatile. Depending on the application, a user may choose an SD or HD video module. The SD module has an integrated low-light swivel camera combined with an infrared LED and high-dynamic microphone. HD cameras have a wider field of view and won't sacrifice resolution when the user is digitally zooming into a region of interest. The HD sensor modules are also available with a quad video matrix option. The transmitter also features a new optional internal edge video recorder for offline analysis. The user can download the video via a USB connection. The DropCam Tx-II's lightweight and rugged design features a three-hour runtime with a robust range exceeding one mile.
IMT's Mini MobilCMDR is a small, ruggedized IP54-rated COFDM (DVB-T-compliant) diversity handheld receiver/monitor that offers exceptional RF performance and durability, true ease of operation, and superb H.264 and MPEG2/4 decoding. Weighing less than three pounds, the unit, a miniature version of IMT's popular full-size MobilCMDR, displays COFDM video transmissions on a five-inch integrated bright-daylight, high-resolution LCD screen. In addition, the unit features an HDMI output, which allows users to output the video on any large screen that has HDMI connection, including most off-the-shelf TV screens. The run time for internal batteries is more than two hours and can be extended with a small, lightweight clip-on external battery. The Mini MobilCMDR also features a 32GB internal storage record capability.
