Redmond, WA, U.S.A., May 13, 2014 – Zetron, a leading provider of mission-critical communications solutions worldwide, announced that its Advanced Communications (AcomEVO) console system utilizing the Project 25 (P25) Console Subsystem Interface (CSSI) has been successfully deployed at the new Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office Public Safety Center in Freehold, N.J.
The 60-position console system is the first in the industry to utilize the CSSI in a P25 Phase II system. It is also the first non-Motorola console to integrate with Motorola’s ASTRO 25 Phase II network. The significance of P25 Phase II is that it offers twice the spectrum efficiency provided by Phase I.
The opening of the Public Safety Center took place on April 29, 2014 and was attended by local, county, and state officials, including New Jersey Lt. Governor and former Monmouth County Sheriff, Kim Guadagno. The event was the culmination of a project that included constructing the facility and installing the state-of-the-art communications equipment it would require. Zetron’s AcomEVO console system was chosen for its customizable graphical user interface, updated functionality, interoperability, and ability to integrate with Motorola’s ASTRO 25 Phase II network.
“The completion of the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office Public Safety Center is a great accomplishment, and Zetron’s AcomEVO system had a large part in that,” said Monmouth County Sheriff, Shaun Golden. “The implementation of new technology that unites local and county agencies through data and voice communications post Superstorm Sandy and Hurricane Irene makes Monmouth County fully equipped and prepared to ensure the safety of our residents during emergencies and large-scale incidents.”
“Zetron congratulates Monmouth County on the opening of their new Public Safety Center,” said Zetron President and CEO, Ellen O’Hara. “We’re pleased that the integrated Zetron/Motorola solution is providing the interoperability and undated functionality Monmouth County requires. Zetron has been an advocate of P25 and a leader in implementing multi-vendor solutions based on the P25 console interface standard. In fact, we have logged over two million operational hours using the P25 CSSI. Our ongoing commitment to P25 helps ensure that customers have the freedom and flexibility to take advantage of the benefits open standards offer.”
