Dramatic body camera footage of two Canton City, Georgia police officers saving a man's life has led the city to equip all of its patrol cars with automated external defibrillators.

Officers Patrick Duncan and Jimmy Butler responded to a local Crossfit gym after a man, identified as Justin Marion, collapsed while he was in the middle of a barbell lift, according to ABC News.

The gym's co-owner Karen Camp attempted to perform CPR while responding officers were minutes away, but was unsuccessful.

The officers arrived on the scene and were traveling in one of the department's few cruisers equipped with an AED. Their body cameras captured the intense moments that followed as they attached the device to the man.

Marion then jerks from the shock of the AED after it is activated and one of the officers performs CPR on the man, who begins to breathe.

Following the scare, Marion said that he doesn't have any recollection of what happened.

"It was a miracle," Marion said. "They (doctors) said they don't usually get to have this type of conversation with patients."

On Thursday, the City Council voted to let all officers have access to the devices, purchasing 17 more AEDs so that all 33 police patrol vehicles are equipped with them.

"It was so easy to save a life with an AED," Canton City Clerk Susan Stanton told the news outlet, "Now, everybody is going to have them in their patrol vehicles."
