The Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C. released body camera video on Friday showing officers thwart a man armed with a knife attempting to rob a woman.

Officers responded to a call for a robbery in the 1900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Southeast around 9:43 a.m. on Wednesday, according to WRC-TV. As the officers arrived on the scene they heard a woman calling for help and saw the suspect standing over her with a knife in an alleyway.

The suspect, identified as 48-year-old Christopher Alexander Galloway, was arrested at the scene and charged with assault with intent to commit robbery

This marks one of the first times body camera video has been released by the police department since it began using the devices this year.
