Officials told KVLY-TV that they decided to give residents an unedited look at the stops as they occurred near North Dakota State University in hopes that it will encourage people to slow down.

Officer Jessica Schindeldecker told the news station that it's just another way for the department to connect with the community and increase transparency.

"We want people to ask us questions or be able to interact with us in a positive way, and this was just one more form of them to be able to do that," said said.

While some residents are uneasy about possibly being shown during a stop, said that with all the cameras pointed at the police, it's nice to be able to show it from another angle.
