Getac introduced its Z710 rugged Android tablet designed to perform in extreme work environments. From its 7-inch, scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass touchscreen display and MILSTD 810G / IP65 certification for shock, dust, and moisture, to its sophisticated SiRFstar GPS sensor, advanced communications features, and photo/video capabilities, the Getac Z710 is truly the "everything tablet" for professionals who find themselves in the most extreme work environments around the world.
Thanks to Getac’s proprietary LumiBondTM technology, the Z710 is the only rugged tablet built with a glove-friendly touchscreen display. LumiBond integrates Gorilla Glass, a capacitive touch sensor and an LED panel, which provides unprecedented touch sensitivity—even with industrial gloves—while maintaining its durability in any work condition.
Portability, communication features, and information access are a few of the solutions that field professionals demand from their rugged devices, and the Getac Z710 addresses them all. Measuring approximately 8.5 by 5.6 inches (just over one inch thick) and weighing less than two pounds, the Z710 can be easily transported anywhere. In addition, maintaining communication with the home office and other field workers is never an issue. The Z710 provides a variety of built-in communications options including WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G, and RF pass-through SiRFstar GPS for pinpoint location accuracy, an HD webcam, and a 5MP still camera. Together, these communications tools ensure that field workers based in even the most remote areas of the globe are able to maintain open communication and easily perform critical job functions. Additionally, barcode scanning and RFID configurations allow for quick and easy data capture.
In addition to the array of data capture, communication features, and connectivity capabilities, the Z710 is one the most rugged tablets of its kind. MIL-STD-810G certified to withstand drops up to six feet, IP65 certified for dust and liquid, and certified to operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -4° F to 122° F, the Getac Z710 is designed to exceed the requirements of the most important entity of all—the people who use it.
The new Getac Z710 starts at $1,499 with a 3G-equipped version starting at $1,799 MSRP and will begin shipping in October. The Z710 is backed by a 3-year, bumper-to-bumper warranty.
