iWatch Version 5.0

Sept. 14, 2011

iThinQware, Inc., creators of the iWatch Mobile App Suite, released iWatch version 5.0.  One year following the successful launch of iWatch in Dallas, the company expanded to law enforcement, sheriff’s offices and Fortune 500 companies.

Agencies use the iThinQware iWatch mobile application to enable citizens to submit crime tips and suspicious activity reports anonymously to their local law enforcement agencies.

The iWatch Apps help law enforcement reach out to a “digitally connected America” in ways never before possible. In the US,  smartphones have become an ever-present tool used in progressively more and more diverse ways and Law Enforcement can now build relationships with a demographic that is expanding at a rate of 260% per year. Cisco research reports [1]. there will be nearly one mobile device per capita by 2015. There will be over 7.1 billion mobile-connected devices, including machine-to-machine (M2M) modules, in 2015-approximately equal to the world's population in 2015 (7.2 billion).

iWatch is a mobile application that enables citizens to turn in tips, images and videos about crimes or suspicious activities directly to law enforcement from almost any mobile phone or PC. Citizens can remain anonymous or may choose to disclose their identity. Crime tips or suspicious activity reports can be submitted through iWatch as text messages, e-mails or phone calls and all tips are sent in real-time to the law enforcement agency.

For law enforcement and other agencies, the iWatch application has more complex functionality.  It is bi-directional and allows law enforcement to receive, vet, track, forward and share crime tips within its own agency, as well as to push out tips, photos, videos and information to officers or other agencies if they so choose.  Agencies can also communicate back to informants, if informants choose not to remain anonymous, as well as post tips and information to other networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter or the media to encourage citizens to share information with Police.
