Those being scheduled can put their availability in for a given upcoming work period and when the schedule is made, if there are any conflicts, both the person building the schedule and the user are notified. That empowers finding a solution before the day/date of the conflict arrives and someone doesn’t show up for work. Once the schedule has been made, any changes made are easily tracked by the user and visible up through the chain of command. With the click of a button in the app, all affected personnel are notified of the change. The scheduling solution even includes the ability to keep track of secondary employment and overtime.
Some chiefs may think, “I don’t want my officers able to edit the schedule; only my lieutenants and up.” Which users within a given “customer” database can make changes is an agency-controlled specification. You choose what rank or title is required to have editing capability of the schedule. While every person on the schedule has access, what they can or can’t edit is specified by the agency head or designee. Not only are those access levels specified at the agency level, they are controlled there. Changing access levels doesn’t require a service call to Vector Solutions but can be done by the agency designee.
While this might all seem too good to be true, it’s easier when you realize that the entire scheduling solution was designed by former and active public safety personnel who understand the potential challenges of scheduling for different shifts, assignments, locations and more.
OFFICER Media Group is proud to award our “Tested - Field Rated” seal of approval to Vector Solutions for the Vector Scheduling solution.
