WarrantPayIQ Handheld Device and Application

March 30, 2017

TECSIQ's WarrantPayIQ is a handheld device and software application, WarrantPayIQ allows individuals to clear their outstanding Class C misdemeanor capias pro fine warrants during routine traffic violation stops. The automated, integrated solution assists warrant carrying citizens in avoiding unnecessary arrests.

WarrantPayIQ’s technology gives officers the option to allow a citizen with a Class C misdemeanor capias pro fine warrant to pay and clear their warrants, saving vast amounts of the officers’, agencies’, and jurisdictions’ time and resources. WarrantPayIQ enables citizens to come into compliance with their warrant, and avoid the inconvenience of an arrest and towed vehicle.

“Our vision is to update agencies’ process with technology so that peace officers get their time back to focus on public safety priorities and serve their community,” said Allen Fletcher, TECSIQ president. “We are excited to launch WarrantPayIQ as our first solution, and look forward to rolling out additional products as we continue to bring the latest customer service oriented technologies to law enforcement.”

Based on TECSIQ’s research, an estimated 10 percent of Texans have outstanding Class C misdemeanor capias pro fine warrants. Class C misdemeanors are the lowest level of criminal offense in Texas – for example, most traffic tickets are Class C misdemeanors. When a citizen misses their designated court date from the citation affiliated with the Class C misdemeanor, a warrant for their arrest is issued.

WarrantPayIQ benefits include:

  • Letting outstanding warrant holders make payments without officers needing to handle their credit cards (while not storing credit card information)
  • Reducing jail congestion
  • Improving officer productivity
  • Incorporating a secure middleware server for data processing that can connect to an unlimited number of jurisdiction warrant databases and the associated courts merchant accounts
  • Customization to reflect the individual brand of each law enforcement agency
  • A 24/7 help desk
  • Additional features that extend beyond accepting payments for outstanding warrants

Headquartered in Houston, TECSIQ was founded to streamline processes that enable law enforcement agencies to focus on what matters most in the community. The company’s process automation applies current technologies to systematize inefficient protocols. TECSIQ’s founders include a veteran law enforcement officer and two private sector technology experts.

“WarrantPayIQ provides benefits to all parties,” said Stuart Tillman, TECSIQ CEO. “For the warrant holder, it allows individuals to avoid the burden of arrest procedures at a cost far less than the resulting tow and vehicle impound. As for the officers, it allows them to continue serving the community, rather than waste time and resources to arrest these individuals, and it’s delivered as a zero cost solution for the jurisdiction.”

TECSIQ is currently in conversations with numerous jurisdictions in Texas and other states about adopting the technology.
