Imprivata Inc., the company that simplifies and secures user access, today announced that it is bringing its expertise to the government market and that its new OneSign 4.5 product release fully supports FIPS 140-2 compliance. The move comes as a result of the strong demand for single sign-on (SSO) and strong authentication at government agencies and organizations. Government organizations at all levels are increasingly aware of the risks associated with lax security and the legal ramifications of failure to protect confidential information. Security mandates including the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), the Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD)-12 and Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) Publication 201 impose strict demands on the security practices at government organizations and are now requiring agencies to increase security without compromising employee productivity.
Imprivata’s authentication management solution supports any combination of laptops with embedded finger print readers or building access badges that federal and government organizations want to leverage. The Imprivata platform has a separate, integrated module for single sign-on to meet password and authentication requirements mandated by the FBI CJIS Advanced Authentication (AA) standard.
