NetMotion Software First to Optimize Streaming Performance of Video and Other Real-time Enterprise Apps

    Aug. 28, 2018
NetMotion Makes Key Updates to Product Suite, Including Bandwidth Testing and Enhancements that Improve Real-time Communications on Congested Wi-Fi and Cellular Networks.

Seattle, WA – August 28, 2018 – NetMotion® Software, a leading provider of Mobile Performance and Operational Intelligence solutions, announced today a number of enhancements to NetMotionMobility®, NetMotion Diagnostics® and NetMotion Mobile IQ®, the solutions underpinning the company’s Mobile Operational Intelligence Platform. Chief upgrades include tools that optimize the streaming performance of voice-over-IP (VOIP) applications, such as Skype, that are essential for team collaboration, productivity and customer service.

“A growing number of mobile users depend on streaming and other real-time apps,” said Christopher Kenessey, CEO of NetMotion. “This combined with increasing congestion on Wi-Fi and cellular networks can significantly degrade quality. With NetMotion, businesses can avoid packet loss and prioritize traffic so that sessions perform reliably whether someone is in the office, on the road or moving between the two.”

The NetMotion Mobility software ensures seamless collaboration across the mobile enterprise. The software’s unique packet loss recovery maintains the quality of a streaming session over connections that would otherwise fail. For enterprises this means that VOIP communication or audio/video conferencing appears the same for both mobile and wired users across all of the networks they use.

Businesses can further enhance this experience with Quality of Service (QoS) and network priority for advanced networks. This gives higher priority to data flows that require real time delivery. For example, large file transfers won’t degrade the concurrent voice or video session. The best part is applications don’t need to be rewritten or upgraded to support priority tagging standards.

Other key updates to Mobility include groundbreaking security to enforce device-wide VPN use on supervised iOS devices, out-of-the-box optimization for Skype and other video applications, and more flexible FIPS 140-2 cryptography.

NetMotion has also made a number of powerful enhancements to Mobile IQ mobile analytics software and Diagnostics mobile performance software, the other two components of the company’s Operational Intelligence Platform for Enterprise Mobility.

    Mobile IQ and Diagnostics Enhancements

Mobile IQ 2.0 introduces critical advances in mobile analytics for IT operations teams including:

    • Access to the latest dashboards, designed to deliver deep, actionable analytics on device health and performance, data threat defenses, usage and productivity, lost or stolen devices, and more.

    • Process comprehensive data from both Diagnostics and Mobility, giving a detailed view of mobile workers, devices, networks and applications.

    • Visually assess in maps and charts where mobile devices, applications and web traffic are going to uncover malicious domains and IP addresses accessed by workers’ devices.

Diagnostics 4.5 mobile performance management software includes significant improvements to configurability, management and support, including:

    • Configure clients to run bandwidth tests. This provides real-world, location-based tracking and analysis of actual throughput available to each device.

    • Lock down the server address configured on the client to seamlessly configure Diagnostics clients eliminating the possibility of user error.

    • Support employees using the latest modems, network interfaces and MiFi devices, from

Dell, Sierra Wireless, Novatel, ZTE and more.

The NetMotion Operational Intelligence Platform for Enterprise Mobility gives enterprises unprecedented visibility and control of their mobile deployment using previously untapped information on mobile devices. Businesses are empowered to leverage real-time data and analytics on mobile workers and their devices, networks and applications, and empower IT and security operations teams with the insight to optimize performance, ensure security and control costs.
