Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) P25 Console Subsystem Interface (CSSI)

Aug. 12, 2010

Zetron's new open-standards Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) P25 Console Subsystem Interface (CSSI) supports digital connectivity between Zetron’s Acom Advanced Communications System and trunked P25 networks.

Acom is a fully digital switching and multiplexing dispatch system that integrates voice (radio and telephone), data, paging and video. CSSI further enhances Acom’s considerable interoperability.

Acom supports FIPS-140-2-compliant digital encryption

Through CSSI and its other P25 interfaces, Acom supports Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2-compliant digital encryption. As a result, Acom is able to meet or exceed the most stringent existing security requirements. Few consoles are able to provide this level of security.

More choice in consoles and radio

Because systems that utilize CSSI can work together without requiring proprietary interface protocols, they give users more choice in their selection of dispatch console systems and radios. Complementing DFSICSSI complements Zetron’s previously released Digital Fixed Station Interface (DFSI), which enables digital communications between Acom consoles and conventional P25 networks that are operating with either an analog FM or P25 common air interface (CAI).
