NEW YORK -- Actor and public safety advocate Jeremy Renner has partnered with RapidSOS as an investor and advocate, supporting the company’s work to enhance emergency response systems and provide first responders with real-time operational intelligence.
The announcement highlights a collaboration focused on improving how critical data is delivered to 911 telecommunicators and field personnel during emergencies. According to RapidSOS, its platform is currently used by more than 23,500 public safety agencies and supports response efforts in over 500,000 emergencies each day.
Renner’s involvement follows a near-fatal snowcat accident in Washoe County, Nevada, on January 1, 2023. The incident, which required a complex emergency response, shaped his advocacy for first responders and informed his decision to support technologies aimed at improving situational awareness in the field.
“Our first responders and healthcare workers put their lives on the line every day. Being able to help our helpers is personally important to me,” Renner said. “What they need is the right information, at the right moment. When they have it, they can come together and problem solve. That’s why I'm excited to partner with RapidSOS, to support the people on the front lines and the work they do every day.”
RapidSOS officials said the company’s HARMONY AI platform integrates data from a network of more than 723 million connected devices, including crash detection systems, medical alert devices, and security sensors. The system delivers real-time intelligence directly into emergency communications centers and responder tools to improve decision-making during active incidents.
According to Michael Martin, Founder and CEO of RapidSOS, the platform is designed to address long-standing gaps in information sharing during emergency calls and field response.
“First responders do extraordinary work every day,” Martin said. “But for too long we’ve asked them to rush into millions of emergencies with almost no information. In partnership with public safety, we are building the first AI platform developed for mission critical response operations - providing an immediate full picture of any emergency.”
The company reports that, as of 2025, its technology has supported emergency response operations in more than 1.1 billion incidents across 15 countries. The platform is positioned as a tool to reduce response delays caused by fragmented data across disconnected systems.
The partnership was announced during National Telecommunicators Week, which recognizes the role of 911 professionals. RapidSOS noted that approximately 240 million 911 calls are placed annually in the United States, underscoring the operational demands on emergency communications centers.
Jose Mejia, President and COO of RapidSOS, said the company’s focus remains on applying artificial intelligence to mission-critical environments where timely, accurate information can affect outcomes.
“Today AI is used for so many things, but at RapidSOS, we are clear on its highest and best purpose: for helping people at their most vulnerable moments, getting the right insights to the right first responder when a life is on the line,” Mejia said. “That’s what we built in partnership with public safety at RapidSOS. That’s what Jeremy Renner believes in. And that’s why this partnership matters: this is AI for the ultimate good.”
As part of the collaboration, RapidSOS will release a short documentary, “Behind the Emergency,” premiering April 29. The film features Renner and explores modern emergency response operations, including the role of technology in supporting first responders and healthcare personnel.
For law enforcement agencies and emergency communications centers, the partnership reflects continued investment in tools designed to improve situational awareness, streamline response coordination, and enhance officer and responder safety through integrated, real-time data.
The premiere will take place in Reno, Nevada, with virtual tickets available. Register here for the Behind the Emergency Exclusive Virtual Premiere on April 29, 2026 at 11:30am PT / 2:30pm ET.
