Core Defense

As less-lethal self-defense products have grown in popularity, the ammo available has been limited. But not any longer. The Prepared2Protect Core Defense pepper-based ammunition from Umarex is the new standard for less-lethal protection. Compatible with most pepper-round launchers, Core Defense ammo is currently available in .68 caliber, with .50 caliber coming soon. Filled with more plant-based irritant, Core Defense rounds have 7-percent PAVA (synthetic capsaicin pepper) compared to just 4- or 5-percent in most pepper rounds. Core Defense rounds have other unique features to help fend off a threat and allow the user to escape to safety. Inside each round is a steel core that is held in place by internal supports. This patented design provides more stability in flight, which results in superior accuracy.

Upon hitting the target, the steel core works in conjunction with specially engineered fracture lines on the shell of the round to improve breakability upon impact to release a debilitating cloud of pepper-based irritant. Core Defense ammo is available in pepper rounds for self-defense and inert powder rounds for training.
