Pittsburgh police officers will continue what has become a Thanksgiving tradition by delivering meals to the elderly, needy and homeless.

Pittsburgh police officers will continue what has become a Thanksgiving tradition by delivering meals to the elderly, needy and homeless.

The hot meals, prepared by Penny's Diner on East Carson Street in the South Side, will be delivered from 8 a.m. through the early afternoon to those in high rises, senior centers and individual homes, city police spokeswoman Diane Richard said.

Meals will be delivered in Allentown, Arlington, Banksville, Beechview, Beltzhoover, Bon Air, Brookline, Carrick, Chartiers City, Crafton Heights, Duquesne Heights, East Carnegie, Elliott, Esplen, Fairywood, Knoxville, Mt. Washington, Oakwood, Overbrook, Ridgemont, Sheraden, South Side, West End, Westwood and Windgap.

Anyone needing a meal is asked to call Officer Christine Luffey at 412-488-8326.
