Harrisonburg, VA, January 23, 2013 - Founder and CEO of TSSi (Tactical & Survival Specialties Inc.), Bill Strang, was presented with the Rotary Foundation’s ‘Paul Harris Fellow’ award, Monday, January 21st. The Paul Harris Fellow award is presented by the Rotary to a person that has portrayed exceptional service and/or assistance to better the peoples of our world. On average, the Rotary Foundation raises $80 million in annual funds, of which 80% derives directly from individuals crowned as Paul Harris Fellows.
Shortly after Hurricane Sandy ripped through the East Coast in late October, Bill Strang recognized that TSSi could make a serious impact on the relief efforts being provided to those lives that were impacted by the storms destructive path. Safety and protection lies in the hearts of all TSSi members, especially CEO Bill Strang. In coordination with the Rotary Foundation, TSSi became the hub/collection center for goods being donated towards Sandy relief efforts. Products such as blankets, clothing, household cleaning supplies, and food were kitted, packaged, and palletized at TSSi’s warehouse. The company also donated logistical services of transporting the products to the areas hit hardest by the storm.
