Two teenagers were shot Monday evening in East Harlem near an NYPD station house during police-involved gunfire, cop sources told the Daily News.

Officers were finishing up on a 911 call at the Wagner Houses when they heard multiple gunshots erupt a block away — outside Police Service Area 5 near East 123rd St. and Third Ave. — involving two groups of teens firing at each other, NYPD Chief of Patrol Philip Rivera said Monday night.

Officers saw one of the teens shooting — and discharged their firearm before going on a foot pursuit, Rivera said.

A 15-year-old boy was shot in the left knee, and another 15-year-old boy was hit in the leg. Police were investigating if the teens were shot by officers.

“They just finished up a call at the Wagner Houses,” a police source said. “It was one of the 15 year olds that was the shooter.”

Two teens were taken into custody on East 123rd St. following the mayhem, including 18-year-old Damien Calhoun, who had a firearm in his bag, Rivera said.

“The firearm was loaded with a high capacity magazine with a capacity of 31 rounds,” Rivera said, adding Calhoun was known to the department.

“On July 23, 2025, he plead guilty to attempted murder for an incident that occurred on November 2024 when he was 17 years old,” Rivera said. “Because of the raising of the age law, he was released from custody in July and was back out on the streets.”

Calhoun was due back in court this coming November.

One of the 15-year-olds had a pending case for a violent felony in Manhattan.

A 40-year-old man who lives in the neighborhood told The News he heard numerous shots, noting “everyone was running.”

EMS transported the injured teens to Harlem Hospital, where both youngsters were in stable condition.

No officers were injured in the shooting, sources told The News.

The incident was caught on surveillance video, and police are investigating if the shooting may have been gang-related.

“Two groups of individuals engage in a dispute and then discharged firearms at each other, both individuals taken into custody were observed on surveillance video discharging firearms,” Rivera said.
