For the second time in less than a month, Glendale police arrested a 35-year-old man who rammed the station's gate, with the first incident causing $20,000 in damage to the station.
Glendale, AZ, police arrested a 35-year-old man accused of ramming the station's gate for the second time in less than a month, with the first incident causing $20,000 in damage to the station.
A 35-year-old man was arrested recently after he rammed an Arizona police station twice in a less than a month.
The first incident happened Feb. 28 when Alberto Jaquez Rojas drove up to the Glendale Police Department before turning his pickup truck around and ramming the station's gate in reverse. His actions caused roughly $20,000 worth of damage to the station, KOLD-TV reports.
According to the department, Rojas was apprehended by officers, and the agency released security camera footage of the incident on social media.
That video also included footage of Rojas' latest run-in at the Glendale police station. The second incident happened March 20, with Rojas crashing into the station's gate again.
Rojas fled the scene, but the department credited the city's Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) with tracking Rojas "as he recklessly drove through our city," the agency stated on social media.
Rojas was eventually located at an Applebee’s parking lot, and a half-dozen police officers, as well as a K-9 caught up with Rojas and arrested him.
"His actions put the lives and wellbeing of many people on the roadway in great danger," the department stated. "Stay safe and be mindful of those around you."
