Woman Pulls Gun on New Orleans Police Officer Outside Station

May 10, 2024
A New Orleans police officer was sitting in his cruiser outside the agency's Uptown station when a woman approached him and pulled out a handgun.

A woman allegedly walked up to a policeman sitting in his patrol car at an Uptown police station Thursday and pulled a gun on him, the New Orleans Police Department said.

Police say Jincye Brown, 20, approached the officer at 10:16 a.m. while he was inside his marked vehicle at the NOPD's second district station in the 3400 block of Broadway Street.

The officer asked if she needed help, and she pulled out the gun. The officer took out his gun and told Brown to drop her weapon, the NOPD said.

No shots were fired, and Brown was arrested and booked on a count of attempted murder of a police officer, the NOPD said.

The NOPD did not identify the officer but said he has worked for the agency for eight years.

No additional information was made available.
