Project Description
With a rapidly expanding population, Royse City outgrew its previous police department facility on Royse City’s historic Main Street. While it had served the community well, the growing demands of public safety called for a more capable and future-ready space. It was therefore key that the new facility retained the city’s deep commitment to preserving the friendly, small-town spirit of Royse City while delivering top-tier municipal services.
Strategically located on Highway 66, the new state-of-the-art Police Department facility embodies that vision. Purposefully designed to support a vibrant and evolving community, the building accommodates 45 officers, 15 administrative personnel, and additional support staff. A multipurpose training room and a dedicated community conference space provide opportunities for law enforcement and residents to engage and collaborate. The facility fosters a secure, welcoming environment that reflects Royse City’s culture and its commitment to both service and connection.
Interdepartmental communication and support across teams meant integrating essential spaces for the police administration, officers, and support staff to collaborate, operate, and relax. Administrative and investigative functions are seamlessly connected, and the briefing and patrol suite design focuses on streamlining circulation and connectivity for optimized daily efficiency.
Spacious locker rooms double as a tornado-rated storm shelter for staff safety. Additionally, support buildings provide acoustical separation for the fitness room and shaded workout turf, additional conditioned and non-conditioned property and evidence storage, and secure vehicle processing bays.
The Royse City Police Department, whose dedicated employees strive to provide a safe place for residents and visitors alike, now stands as a vital resource and a point of pride for the city. This facility not only enhances public safety but also strengthens the connection between law enforcement and the community, supporting Royse City’s continued growth and well-being.
