Officer Down: Officer Anastasios Tsakos

NEW YORK-Officer Anastasios Tsakos of the NYPD Highway Police, was killed by a drunk driver. 

Officer Anastasios was directing traffic on a highway in Queens away from an accident when an intoxicated driver hit him at two in the morning. The driver who hit him has been arrested and charged with vehicular manslaughter, DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, driving with a license that has been suspended, and reckless driving.

Officer Tsakos served New York City for 14 years and is survived by his wife an children.
