NEW YORK-Trooper Joseph Gallagher, of the New York State Police, died March 26, 2021 from a prior incident that occurred three years ago.
On December 18, 2017, he was hit by a car while on duty. At the time he was assisting a disabled motorist on the highway.
Trooper Gallagher served with New York State Police since 2014. His last assignment was with NYSP in Brentwood.
Trooper Gallagher is survived by his wife, children, parents, and siblings.
