California Sheriff's Deputy Dies After Suffering Heart Attack During Training

Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Harry Cohen died after suffering a heart attack during a K-9 training exercise on Sunday.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, California -- A Riverside County Sheriff's deputy died after suffering a heart attack during a training exercise on Sunday.

Sgt. Harry Cohen was training with the K-9 team when he experienced the medical emergency, according to a news release.

"Last night our Department lost a man of God, husband, father, best friend, and deputy," Sheriff Chad Bianco said in a statement. "Sergeant Harry Cohen will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him."

Cohen was a veteran of the department and was a well-respected K-9 handler who currently supervised the team. 

Funeral arrangements are pending.
