An New York City firefighter is catching some heat after his side gig as a cop-bashing hip-hop artist was exposed.

FDNY Capt. Kaseem Ryan -- who raps under the stage name "Ka" -- spews profanities about police while preaching drugs and violence that can be seen on display in YouTube videos, according to The New York Post.

The 44-year-old a veteran firefighter, who commands Engine Co. 235 in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, has disgusted some NYPD members after learning he's called them names like pigs and thugs in his songs and on his social media accounts.

"The biases he portrays through his music are indicative of what he believes or feels," Ed Mullins, president of the Sergeants Benevolent Association told the newspaper. "As a New York City firefighter, he should be trying to bring people together rather than fracture relationships, especially in communities of color."

One of Ryan's fellow firefighters told the newspaper that he was unaware of his rapping career.

"I had no idea he was doing that on the side," he said. "He's really not a bad guy. But he shouldn't be bad-mouthing cops."

In a 2015 interview as the rapper "Ka," Ryan talked about his hidden identity without outing himself as a first responder.

"I’m living two lives, man," he said. "I'm trying to be who I am in the day and then trying to feed my soul at night with being the artist that I want to be."
