April 08--MANATEE -- An inmate's two front teeth fell out after biting a deputy at the Manatee County jail on Thursday, an arrest report shows.
At 3:15 a.m., two deputies were trying to help Erin Babich, 25, into a cell when she refused orders to get up from a chair. She then pulled away from deputies and tried to hit one of them, a report shows.
When the deputies tried to restrain her, Babich bit one of them so hard, the report shows, that her two front teeth fell out and the deputy's arm bled and swelled.
The deputy was treated by jail staff and will get further treatment at Manatee Memorial Hospital.
Babich was charged with aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and is also being held at the jail on other unrelated charges.
