Nov. 23--A man convicted of stealing a Toledo police cruiser and then assaulting a police officer has been sentenced to 17 months in prison.
Kent Crozier, 22, was sentenced Monday by Lucas County Common Pleas Court Judge Ruth Ann Franks, who also ordered that he serve five years on community control for the theft. As part of his probation, the judge ordered that Crozier spend six months in the Correctional Treatment Facility. The sentences were ordered to run consecutively.
Crozier pleaded guilty to assault and attempted theft of a vehicle. He was convicted of driving off in a marked police cruiser parked at El Camino Real restaurant, 2500 W. Sylvania Ave., on Aug. 23, and later head-butting an officer taking him into custody.
